Welcome to the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at QUT. We are a new school that encompasses two core discipline areas in health – human movement studies and nutrition and dietetics.

Our courses

Our courses are embedded with real-world placement opportunities and provide graduates with experience and skills for careers in a wide range of challenging occupations. Our courses are recognised by the relevant accreditation bodies and students can complete studies in:

Students in our undergraduate programs have access to state-of-the-art facilities at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus and gain experience through practical placements in the QUT Health Clinics and external community settings.

Our staff

Staff in the School are industry professionals and many contribute to peak professional associations including the Dietitians Association of Australia and Exercise and Sports Science Australia. Our teaching staff are also leading researchers and are actively involved in projects that address contemporary global health challenges and achieve better health and wellbeing for communities in Australia and overseas.

Our research

The School encourages multidisciplinary research activity that encompasses both pure and applied research. Our researchers are supported in their endeavours through their memberships within the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation Linked to another web site. In 2011, we received an ‘above world standard’ rating in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) rankings for our research in human movement studies. Our community

In addition to the traditional academic pursuits of research and teaching, we have partnerships with various professional groups and communities and actively foster relationships between our students, academics, and communities to facilitate the application, exploration, and transfer of scholarship in exercise and nutrition science for the benefit of the community.
