Real-world experience

During their studies, students are required to complete practical placements where they get hands-on experience in the industry, working for hospitals, fitness centres, sports associations, corporate organisations, community health centres, aged care facilities, catering institutions, and correctional facilities.

The QUT Health Clinics Linked to another web site deliver a number of professional health services to the community including human movement and exercise and nutrition and dietetics services. Health students, under the supervision of qualified professionals, deliver many of these services including specialised advice to clients with a range of dietary needs, health and fitness evaluation, exercise prescription, pre employment screening, and physiological testing.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in special community-based events that are educational and proactive in solving real-world health challenges.
