Welcome to the School of Nursing

Head of the School of Nursing, helen EdwardsEstablished in 1978, the QUT School of Nursing is the oldest and largest centre for tertiary nursing education in Queensland. We have developed our courses by consulting and collaborating with health-care agencies and relevant professional associations. Our courses are internationally recognised for their high quality and focus on practice. We offer students a variety of entry pathways with very flexible study options.

Our facilities at both Kelvin Grove Campus and Caboolture Campus are of the highest quality and contemporary multi-media facilities comprise our lecture theatres and tutorial rooms. Our qualified and experienced staff are committed to providing effective learning experiences. We are committed to fostering joint academic positions, in conjunction with health-care agencies, to ensure that our teaching and research are relevant to current practice.

The school has an excellent record in funded research, publications, and higher degree completion. Our research programs and integration with the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) enable innovative research that will improve outcomes of care for patients and their families.

Our staff and graduates take part in influential research projects and collaborations with health organisations across the country as well as significant research projects and community projects.
