The Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA) is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, funded through the National Palliative Care Program.

The overall aim of the program is to improve the quality, availability and access to palliative care for people who are dying, and their families, by improving the skills and expertise of health practitioners, and enhancing the collaboration between service providers.

PEPA provides an opportunity for health professionals (including GPs, nurses, allied health practitioners, aged care staff and Aboriginal health professionals) to develop their knowledge and skills in the palliative approach to care through:

PEPA is being implemented in all Australian states and territories and applicants from rural and remote areas are encouraged to apply.

This program provides an ideal opportunity to learn from experienced specialist staff to enhance skills, knowledge and experience in the palliative approach.
