Module Contents

The module is now freely available on the internet and includes the following topics:

  1. Understanding sexuality
  2. Understanding the experience of the psychosexual effect of gynaecological cancer
  3. Enquiring about and responding to the psychosexual sequalae of gynaecological cancer
  4. Understanding psychosexual sequelae: pathophysiological, psychosocial and cultural aspects.
  5. Undertaking a comprehensive sexual health assessment.
  6. Treatment.

Resource Development

The training module and supporting materials are evidence based and developed according to rigorous methods. All materials have been subject to peer and consumer review.

Women affected by gynaecological cancers, clinical experts and academic experts are involved in the Project Team and Project Working Group. This allows insight and experience to be drawn on from multiple disciplines.

Delivery of the Module to Health Professionals

To ensure wide spread use of the module amongst health professionals, the module has been developed to ensure:

  1. Flexible delivery

    Developed in both electronic and print ready format, the module allows flexibility in terms of time, place and mode of delivery.

  2. Tailoring to your needs

    The content and structure of the module allows all levels and disciplines of health professionals to tailor the modules to their needs by using the resource in whole or in part depending on the learning context.

  3. Evidence based development

    The training module and supporting resources are based on best available evidence both from a learning and content perspective.
