The School of Optometry is the only optometry training facility in Queensland,
and one of only three in Australia. State-of-the-art equipment and facilities
allow students to be trained in all facets of optometry's many and diverse areas.
The undergraduate course prepares students for entry into the professional workforce and for registration to practise anywhere in Australia. Graduates may choose to work in private practice, pursuing special interest areas such as contact lens fitting, binocular vision, occupational vision and low vision. They may also choose to continue with postgraduate study and then enter university teaching and research fields.
