In 2009, the optometry program at QUT changed from a 4-year Bachelor of Applied Science (OP42) to a 5-year dual degree program. The 5-year program is comprised of a 3-year Bachelor of Vision Science (OP45), followed by a 2-year Master of Optometry degree program (OP85). Both degrees need to be completed before a graduate can apply for registration as an optometrist.
