Submitting Your Assignments
Assignments must be submitted, in person, through Assignment Minder, located with the IT Helpdesk in D202, Kelvin Grove Campus. You should submit your assignment
in an A4 document wallet, and attach a bar-coded cover sheet, which is available at Assignment Minder. You must produce your student card when submitting or retrieving an assignment. All assignments will be returned to you via Assignment Minder, and you will receive an email from Assignment Minder when your assignment is ready for collection. Assignments are not to be submitted directly to lecturers, via fax, post, email, assignment boxes or via the Student Centre.
Declaration of Originality
When you submit an assignment through Assignment Minder, you must sign a declaration (on the bar-coded cover sheet) stating that you have read and understood QUTs rules concerning academic dishonesty, and that your assignment represents your own original work, except where appropriately referenced. You should keep any notes and photocopied resources you used in preparing your assignment. You may be asked to produce this material if the unit coordinator has any doubts about the originality of the work you submit for assessment.
Assignment Deadlines
Students who are unable to meet their relevant assessment deadlines should contact their Unit Coordinator/Lecturer/Tutor as soon as possible.
Keep A Copy of Your Assignment
You must keep a copy of your assignment or work. In the event of any dispute
about it being misplaced you will be required to produce this copy when asked.
Adhere to Deadlines and Word Limits
Most lecturers require students' work to meet certain specified criteria such
as submission date and word length, etc. If these criteria are not met marks
will be deducted. It is your responsibility to ensure that you adhere to these
requirements as stated in unit outlines and assessment information. As a general
rule a penalty of 10% per day late will be applied.
Requesting Extensions of Time
Contact your lecturer/unit coordinator well in advance of the due date of the
assignment. In case of illness, a medical certificate should be presented to
the lecturer/unit coordinator. The School's Student Centre staff are not authorised
to give extensions of time on assessment items.
