Students are expected to be self-reliant, independent and responsible.
Just some of the responsibilities you are expected to assume are outlined below.
- make yourself familiar with QUT's Student Rules.
- keep your official student record information up-to-date. Remember to inform Student Administration officially (and on the correct form) if you do any of the following: change your name; change your address; change your enrolment.
- ensure that your enrolment status is correct at all times and to keep an up-to-date copy.
- meet the submission dates as specified by QUT, particularly for enrolment and examination matters. (If you do not meet these deadlines you may find that you will have a HECs liability for a unit you no longer wish to study, receive fail grades, or will be ineligible to sit for an exam).
- pay for any inter-library loans you make. Any such charges received by the School will be forwarded to the student.
- find out when and where your exams are to take place. You are expected to be available to sit exams for the whole end of semester examination period (or deferred examination period if relevant to you).
- check and report exam timetable clashes as soon as any exam timetable is released.
- hand in assignments by the due date in an A4 document wallet, and attach a bar-coded cover sheet, which is available at CASS. You must also keep a copy of your assignment in case there is a dispute about its whereabouts.
- allocate your tutorials (but only when a unit's tutorials are assigned by using QUT's Class Allocation System). (See Frequently Asked Questions on this website).
