Introduction to Health Disaster Management

Leadership for Quality and Safety in Health Care Course

Health Leadership in Disaster Management Course
Date: 17 - 21 October 2011
Award: Assessment component optional. Successful completion of assessment provides credit towards selected postgraduate programs.
Description: Prepares you to lead and manage a health service through a major incident. This course develops skills in designing response arrangements, instructing others, and managing health service strategically through incident and recovery phase. Emergency and Disaster Management Program
Delivery: This program comprises of four units. Two units are delivered as short courses in intensive mode. The other two units are delivered over a seven week period, predominantly through external study.
Award: Assessment component optional. Successful completion of assessment in all four units entitles you to Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Disaster Management or equivalent.
Description: A program that is designed to strengthen your leadership skills and provide you with techniques for managing strategies to ensure effective response arrangements and system recovery during major incidents and disasters. Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Program
Admission: Applicants must be QAS employees and have successfully completed the QAS Student Intensive Care Paramedic process.
Award: Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Paramedic Practice
Description: Intensive Care Paramedics are qualified and experienced paramedics who undertake the Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Paramedic Practice in order to work at a more advanced clinical level.
