Restrictions Apply
Many psychological tests are restricted to authorised users. All clients will be assigned to particular authorisation levels when registering for library membership. Borrowing will be confined to authorised users for tests whenever ACER or Harcourt Assessment restrictions apply.
Registration Process
Patrons of the Psychology Test Library need to be registered before any test is allowed out of the library. Patrons will be provided with a copy of the 'Membership and Loan Agreement'. All patrons need to provide evidence of personal identification (i.e., staff or student card) before tests may be viewed or borrowed. Once these conditions are fulfilled, the patron can borrow items by giving the Test Librarian their staff or student card and asking the Test Librarian to scan the item out to them.
Loan Period
The normal loan period will be 7 days (reduced to 3-4 days during busy periods), although extensions may be negotiated with the Test Librarian. The duration of the loan may be affected by the demand for the particular item in question, and the Psychology Test Library management reserve the right to recall tests at short notice.
Postgraduate Students
Postgraduate students may register as users and borrow any unrestricted test. Students needing to use tests beyond their level of authorisation will require covering letters from their supervisor, who must be an authorised user at the appropriate level. Covering letters from supervisors must indicate what specific tests are required for purposes of study, training, or research and confirming that adequate training and supervision in tests administration and interpretation will be provided for the particular test or tests in question.
Requests for Additions to the Library
All library users are invited to make suggestions for additions to the Psychology Test Library collection and all requests will be considered by the Psychology Test Library Coordinator. Wherever possible, requests from academic staff will be met although, of necessity, priority will be given to the acquisition of items required for purposes of teaching and for research-in-progress.
