Social Work and Human Services runs a volunteer student mentoring scheme. The basic aim of the program is to to help commencing students in their first few weeks to adapt to uni life and feel part of the Carseldine community. Interacting with 'peers' is seen as a good way to achieve this.

Continuing students - you can help commencing students to make the transition to university as a Volunteer Student Mentor. Achieve much and be acknowledged for it - without a heavy commitment, and by just being yourself. You will also develop your own interpersonal skills, promote the spirit and reputation of our campus by helping our future graduates. You will also be given a "Mentor" tee-shirt!

What will I have to do?

You will be asked to attend a training session and also attend the SWHS 'Transition to University' Workshop (to meet and support commencing students). You will be asked to be available during Orientation Week and also to be visible and available to commencing students during the first few weeks of the semester.
